The Magnificent Hour is a dark, twisted comedic experience
that combines sketch and improvisation in a seamless, unique package.
Audiences will be thrilled as the hour is played out minute for minute
on stage in real time.
As the show begins, a clock is displayed prominently
on stage. After the government announces the Magnificent Hour we watch
as characters wrestle with their morality and their desire to get away
with murder. Then, the Hour begins! For the next 60 minutes, everyone,
the audience, the actors and the characters are on a rollercoaster of
doom as the Magnificent Hour plays itself out in real time. The first
portion of the show is scripted. Depending on the time left, the remainder
of the show can take any number of different paths exploiting the improvisational
skills of the troupe to the fullest. Time is the only thing that matters.
Everything including place, action, and characters are subservient to
the clock on stage. As the clock goes, so goes the show.
