John McCain’s site got hacked this morning. Apparently for his MySpace page he was serving up images from someone else’s server – he was using their design without crediting them. So he decided to change the image that was served up. Click the image to check it out.

My Quest to be Stephen Colbert’s Black Friend

For a long time I’ve known that I was the most deserving black person to be Stephen Colbert’s Black friend. Look at how we’d look together. Look at those smiles! How can I prove to Stephen that I’m the one? Today I’ve decided to begin my quest in a way I believe Stephen would approve of: Asking America to help me put together the perfect application for Stephen Colbert’s black friend. Over the next few weeks I’ll be polling my friends and America to create the perfect application. Won’t you help out a brother?

Hooray.  I was reading this post on CC Insider about how the actor, Kurt Long, set to host this new Fox News supposed Daily show rip off changed his professional name to Kurt McNally.  Some have suggested its cause he doesn’t want his name associated with the show. As a fellow comedian I’d have sympathy for a comedian doing bad comedy to pay the bills except I just watched clip below on Obama Magazine and thought, “Wow, that’s a little racist.”  I mean seriously folks!:

They make fun of his name.
They have a bunch of African people cheering to start of the faux ad.
The faux magazine has such gem titles as, “Barack versus Tiger Woods: Who’s more diverse?”(Curiously the announcer didn’t say this one – probably because it would sound that much worse out loud) and “Did I mention that I went to Harvard”, and t-shirt “Barack Positions That Drive Voters Wild.”

The laugh track is not racist – but its spooky.

They might as well have come out and say it – Blacks have made up names or names that we don’t understand, they use drugs, they’re just a bunch of dancing bush men, they can play sports though, yes some went to college but that doesn’t make them not niggers, they’re good in bed I hear, and I love aunt jemima syrup, but they’ll never be a black president.  Okay maybe this is a rather harsh decoding of this piece, but you get the point.

Let’s not kid ourselves that this is right leaning comedy. It’s bad comedy and that’s for sure. I have nothing against comedians doing bad comedy – most every comedian that’s appeared in a sitcom in the last 20,30 years has done it.  Folks, I think no less of Brad Garrett for his new show which is horribly unfunny comedy. However, comedians choose to do the comedy they do and if your choice is to work on a show that the comedy is not just bad, but is bigoted, you deserve all the crap you get.

Law & Order: etc… returns to the PIT this Friday evening at 10pm.

Yes, we realize you don’t know what the murder was, but that’s not that point. The point is to give us a swath of random crap that our dedicated troupe members will be sure to work into the show this Saturday. Then you can come to the show to see your random crap transformed into funny crap! Imagine the possibilities!
